Still managed today by its original founder, Twente Express was established in Lichfield in 1983 to fulfil the need for a reliable and dedicated freight connection between the UK and the Netherlands.
Now operating from a wholly owned distribution centre in Brownhills in the West Midlands, with depots in Dordrecht and Enschede in the Netherlands, Twente Express takes its name from its first customer, Twentse Graveer Industrie (TGI) who are located at Enschede on the eastern side of the Netherlands.
This very picturesque area of the Netherlands is also known as the TWENTE region and the locals, known as Tukkers, are very proud of the recent good fortunes of their football team FC Twente.
Founder/ Managing Director Trevor Paul has led the team from day one, and, nearly 3 decades later, still has the desire to deliver the most cost effective and reliable transport solutions.
His team has similar levels of energy and commitment, which has led to a harmonious and cohesive workforce – in the UK and the Benelux.
The evidence is in the long service records of several key members of staff. UK Operations Manager Clive Roberts and Import Manager Simon Hill for example, celebrated 20 years service with Twente in 2010.
Instrumental in the success of Twente Express has undoubtably been the total commitment and contribution from our Dutch personnel – notably Bas and Pim Wevers from Enschede and Sjaak Wisman from our Dordrecht distribution centre.
When you talk to us you will immediately know that we are different – we listen, we care, we understand your needs – and most of all WE DELIVER.
